Revision Bariatric Surgery
$5,000*(For appropriately insured patients)

Converting between different procedures

General Surgery Procedures
Known-gap billing for most insured patients - Examples include;

Gallbladder surgery (laparoscopic)

Fees are billed directly through your private health insurance at known-gap or no-gap rates
Medical Therapies

For some patients Dr Cocco will recommend various medical therapy / medications to be used in conjunction with other strategies.

Dr Cocco does not receive funding or have any financial relationship with any of the pharmaceutical companies and only recommends medications that are evidenced based.

The cost of medications can be discussed at time of consultation but as they are not covered by the PBS they can be several hundred dollars per month.

All bariatric surgery fees include surgeon fee only

Hospital and anaesthetic costs are separate and billed directly

Hospital costs will be covered by insurance in appropriately covered patients

Uninsured patients can still access surgery with Dr Cocco but will receive a separate quote from the hospital prior to surgery

Follow-up care is bulk billed for 12 months after any surgery

We can provide advice on insurance level or item numbers to check with health funds

Some patients choose to wait 12 months after upgrading insurance coverage and others choose to self-pay hospital costs - what is right for each person is individual, consider your circumstances

Workcover patients can charge consultations directly to relevant insurers if approved prior

DVA patients will have bulk billed consultations, but surgical fees may apply depending on procedure
