Dr Nicholas Cocco FRACS

Dr Nicholas Cocco is a Bariatric and General Surgeon, having trained in NSW, ACT and Victoria. He offers in-person consults and telehealth consultations where appropriate.

He completed his surgical fellowship in 2018 and had post fellowship training in kidney and pancreas transplantation surgery.  During this time, he completed additional work in elective and acute general, laparoscopic, bariatric and vascular surgery.

Dr Cocco worked with the highly successful Sydney Bariatric Clinic from 2020 to 2025 and joined Macquarie University Hospital's Healthy Weight Clinic in 2024.  He provides a range of general and bariatric / metabolic surgical procedures at Westmead, Norwest (Lakeview), Camden and Macquarie including:

• Bariatric / metabolic surgery – gastric sleeve, bypass surgery and revision of previous surgery

• Upper endoscopy and reflux management

• Hernia surgery – both open and laparoscopic / keyhole surgery

• Gallbladder surgery

• Medical management of obesity and post-bariatric surgery management

Dr Cocco enjoys ongoing learning and a collegial approach - he works with other health professionals including dieticians, psychologists, nursing staff and specialist anaesthetists
