Surgical Weight Management Procedures

Surgical procedures may be discussed for patients who meet clinical criteria following specialist assessment.

Not all procedures are suitable for all patients. Risks, benefits, alternatives and expected recovery are discussed during consultation.

Medical and Multidisciplinary Care

Weight management involves a multidisciplinary approach. Where appropriate, care may include:

  • Dietician support for nutritional assessment and dietary guidance

  • Psychological support

  • Medical review of obesity-related conditions

  • Ongoing follow-up and monitoring

Referral Pathway

  1. Visit your GP, who may refer you to Dr Cocco for specialist assessment.

  2. Book a consultation.

  3. Dr Cocco will work through your options and suggest a tailored plan for you based on your circumstances 

Referring practitioners are welcome to contact the practice for further information.

Please note: patients that book an initial consultations without a referral would not be entitled to a Medicare rebate
